Once we lodged a complaint for clearing a blocked sewage line, the people made sure that they came only when we were present at home, so that they could collect the bribe. On completing the work they said "kalsi sir" in Kannada (which means 'send us'). It's the phrase which means "pay us a bribe and send us off".
The main supervisor asked for the bribe. The sewage cleaners asked too, but the the main supervisor didn't accept the money. He ensured that the cleaners collected it from me.
