My passport was applied for and received with normal procedure. However, my father's name and my mother's name were interchanged and my father's name was incorrect. I went to the Guwahati passport office along with my father but we were not allowed to go inside and even talk. A few months later I went again and straightway asked if I can pay and get my work done. One man took 500 INR and we went inside and I received the passport at my address with the correct information next week or so. Moreover, for police clearance certificate and police verification I had to pay some 500-600 to get the work done. Shame on the system !!!
