I was driving a Karnataka-registered vehicle in Mumbai and was stopped at Haji ********** junction by 2 traffic polic cops, next to the shelter where 3-4 of the rest were standing. One of my papers was found to be not in order ... so one of the cops asked me to go and talk to the head constable sitting at the shelter. The head constable then asked me whether I wanted a ticket for Rs 2200. I said no. He then asked me to pay him Rs 1500. I had only Rs 1000 on me ... so I gave him that. He quickly pocketed the same and allowed me to go. The traffic cops who sit at Haji ********** junction are crooks masquerading in uniform, nothing less.
