Bribe for passport

I went to the Vakola police station for passport verification. On presenting the documents to the person I was told that the SSC certificate cannot be used as a verification of DOB, as the passport department would reject this. I did mention to the person that it was a document mentioned in the list and hence, should be acceptable. However, the person refused to process the application for which I had to later pay him as I was in urgent need of the passport.

He was taking bribes sitting in the police station and not only from me but from other persons as well. Though I would like to stay anonymous I would like the story to be shared with each and every agency that could help in curbing this.
