I was a student in Gandhinagar when I applied for passport. After a week I got call from police station for the verification. While collecting the details and procedure of verification from friends, I got to know that it is kind of mandatory and a necessary step to pay Rs 100 to police. So I paid it to avoid any trouble. Though it is a very small sum but it is a bribe and it is wrong. Now after so many year I really wonder what possibly could have happen if I had not paid that bribe.
