I would like to report a case that i encountered at the jamshedpur DC office where in i had put in a personal file for the approval by the DC.Upon requests on numerous occasions to different officials a demand for Rs.75000/- was put forward to me.My first reaction was that why should i pay when i have not done anything wrong but was informed that my file would then be delayed.I tried contacting the CBI helpline number for the next one week but did not get any response from them.Thus in the end feeling helpless i deciced to pay the amount and we negotiated and agreed at Rs.70,000/-.The next day i paid the amount and have been waiting ever since but my file is still kept at the DC office and the DC keeps telling me that my number will soon come.I would like to state that when higher officials like the DC of a city are themselves corrupt like this how can you expect the rest of the administration to behave.
