Crime branch taking us for a ride of 10000

I and my family members were implicated in a case filed with the crime branch. Initially we were harassed a lot by them and threatened us of bad consequences. Lucky for us, our lawyer friend gave us true picture of the FALSE case and we did not succumb to their pressure. All was done, our statements were recorded, but not signed. Few days later, they come to our home and are very courteous. They say they just need signatures, but demanded 15000 for giving "favourable" investigation report. Or else, the case will go to court and we will have to pay much more than the sum to a lawyer to defend ourself. Even though there is no substance in the case, the court works in strange ways! We fell for this pressure and paid after some bargain.

The experience was pathetic. We are NOT at fault, but the way these goons played with our mind is really mind boggling. We fell weak for 5 minutes and they took advantage of the situation. Who is blame for this? The police, court system, us or fate? Easiest scapegoat for us is "fate", and we have put the incidence behind us.

I hope fellow citizens should not fall prey to these modern era dacoits. Local police, Crime branch, CBI, CID ... are the SAME. All these "special" branches recruit from the state police force only. Make friends with a good lawyer if you anticipate any legal action around you.
