Custom office at airport bribed

Unknowingly I took 2 laptops with me while coming from usa to india. The rule allows only one laptop. For other you have to pay 35% duty!! bribed the officer with $20. Had I known bribing is no at all possible, I would have taken pain to go online and check the custom rules before taking 2 laptops with me.
