I got one parcel from USA containing medical surgery eqp. was held by Post Office Excise division. And they did not sent the letter about this. On our own efforts, we traced the parcel but it took about one week to trace. Then dealing clerks, department started harrasing and threatened to impose 200% duties. As we were aware that items shipped are liable for 40% duty, then we started argumenting, but all in vein. At last we had to pay Rs 2000/- Plus usual duties to get out parcel from excise.
