Hello,
My car had a small accident wherein another car hit it while my car was parked. For Insurance, I was asked to submit an FIR. When I went to the Goregaon West police station, the police officer in-charge started talking very rudely as if I have committed some crime. The officers simply denied to take a note of it and provide me with a copy of the report so that I can claim for Car Insurance. When I tried to explain them, the officer said "You would get money from the company. What will I get?" Till the end, I tried hard but in vain. Initially, I had decided that I would not pay a bribe. But what can a normal citizen with NO CONTACTS in police do? I had to finally give in and pay the officer Rs.1000 after which he gave me the report copy.
