Got off the Sea Link in bandra around midnight, was stopped before lilavati at a nakabandi routine check. Showed them license, papers, etc, all ok. Then the officer said my eyes are red I am drunk and will have to pay fine. When I said I don't drink he said you have to go to Bhaba hospital for blood tests. I had my wife and two guests from abroad who we had taken for dinner at Phoenix mills. He told me that I have to wait for 1 hour and then go to hospital as their timing had to be finished at this location but if I paid 5000 Rs I could go now. When I said I had only 2000 he harassed me for another 30 minutes before taking it and letting us go. Nobody drank, all papers were ok, we only paid because it was harassment and I knew that gong to the hospital would take long and my guests who were Also ladies would be harrowed by the experience. The constables and sub Inspectors were rude and just out to make money.
