Paid bribe to put a temporary connection until the main Cables are get repaired

Electric Cables from the transformer to my rented house got broken. so we called BESCOM Dept to fix the problem. after half an hour they came and find out the problem. They informed us it will take one month to replace the Electric cables so in the meantime if we give Electric wire they could give us a temporary line so that we can manage. So we brought the wire and they installed in another half an hour. Finally one of the BESCOM employee asked us Rs.400. Somehow we bargained and bring down the bribe to Rs.300 and paid them. Initially we thought of not giving the bribe but some of our friends feared that they may come after some time disconnect the temporary connection.
So we paid Rs.300 as bribe.
