This is an incident which happened a decade ago. I was asked by the policeman verifying my passport papers to visit the nearest police station, and bring the two neighbors whose name i had mentioned in the application form, along with me for verification process. I promptly went to along with documents and witnesses to the police station as required. Since all the papers were in order, the police writer did not get anything to pick. Then he started saying that you will go abroad and what will we get out of it by doing all this. We should also benefit. I was shocked to see that this low rung official was asking money just in front of his boss's office. I was made to pay him 100 bucks in those days. Somehow that fellow was not happy with the amount, and it seems he deliberately screwed my application in such a way that i had to run around passport office to get my passport. I am sure things would have changed now, but i am still skeptical as my turn for renewal is coming up and god only help me in getting through this **********all over again. I really curse the people who ask for bribe to me from the bottom of my heart, and I hope that those who take advantage of people's misery are never happy and live life like in hell.
