On 25th Nov I went to the Service Tax Office, Meerut, for Service Tax Registration which is to be done by them free of cost only required documents has to be submitted ,but as expected from any govt. Deptt. Inspector asked me for Rs.2000 as bribe like it is a legitimate charge , I asked him for what I should pay 2000, then he replied 'for registration u hv to pay this,then I was in hurry so I settled for Rs 1500, now after I paid bribe he fulfill all the formalities and take the document to his senior the superintendent for his signature and then I was astonished after seeing the attitude of that superintendent , he was playing chess in his office with another officer and when inspector asked him to sign he denied and ignore it bcoz of that I hv to wait 1.5 hrs watching him playing chess he made me wait for 1.5 hrs for just a sign...........
