I need to get my birth certificate re issued and attested by Local authority and MEA. I appointed an agent called "YourManInIndia" for the same and they charged me as follows:
Re-issuance of Birth certificate:
Our Service fee: 3999/- + service tax @ 12.36%
Stage 1: State Home Department Attestation:
Our service fee: 5999/- + service tax @ 12.36%
Stage 2: MEA Apostille:
Our Service fee: 2799/- + service tax @ 12.36%
How can an attestation service cost Rs 6000? All that has to be done is rubber stamp and signature.
I asked the agency for a break up of costs which they said they couldnt provide.
