Delhi government holds consultations on budget

New Delhi, June 3 (IANS) As part of its participatory budget exercise, the AAP government on Wednesday held consultations with various groups who gave their suggestions for the formulation of the budget to be presented later this month.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia met representatives of industry and trade bodies, resident welfare associations (RAWs) and other groups.

The representative of the Confederation of Indian Industry, present at the meeting, suggested how Delhi can be developed as the Centre of Excellence on Knowledge Economy, said an official statement.

Suggestions on education, skill development, sanitation, industrial development, ease of doing business also figured in the meet. The RWAs and other groups also suggested tree plantation along roads.

Kejriwal and Sisodia noted down the suggestions, the statement added.
