Reported on March 25, 2014 from Mumbai , Maharashtra  ι Report #40226

This was in sometime in 2003-2004. I was a student of final year M Com in Mumbai University, Kalina campus. The entire batch had poor attendance (me because I used to work nights in a call center and would hardly see any classes take place in the morning because of very low attendance with mostly just 3 to 4 students being present). The dean of the department, Vivek Deolankar, asked me for a bribe of Rs. 80,000 to allow me to sit for the exam, and also guaranteed me first class. I refused. He eventually came down to Rs.20,000. It was my two months' salary at the time, not a big deal. I still refused to pay a bribe. He did not issue me my hall ticket and I lost the year.
