Asked to pay money to get through the customs line
At the Chatrapati ********** Terminus - Mumbai.
I was at baggage claim awaiting my bags having just landed from the USA. A baggage claim assistant wearing airport uniform and name tag came to me asking how many bags did I have and that if I could pay him 100$, he would get me through the green belt without inspection of my baggage. I refused to pay him. He threatened to have my luggage barred and not let me exit the airport. I ignored his comments and moved to a different area to wait for my bags. I was able to get through security without a problem. I did not pay heed to the baggage claim attendant's offer. The exact same incident happened to my fiance, 1 year ago. He had also refused to pay the attendant and was able to get out of the airport without an issue.
These attendants are only looking to make extra money by cheating people, so please do not give them money.
