Bribe demand for issuing Khata
I recently purchased a vacant land through Bank Loan. The khata is yet to be transferred to my name. When I visited the BBMP office, I was told to pay Rs.5000 so that things go smoothly and I need not run from pillar to post. I had two options, either pay and get a temporary khata, or wait till government comes up with a betterment fees, and then pay. I decided to wait rather than pay for the temporary one.
