I was heading to work today on my newly restored yamaha RX135 wen i reached inorbit and cut thru traffic and stopped at a signal.
a traffic police came up to me - (conversation in marathi)
Cop - Licence
Me - y what happen
cop - Insurance PUC RC Book
Me - y what happen did i break any rule , did i do any thing wrong.
Cop - u dont have the documents take the bike at the side
Me - I have every document, You tell me why did u stop me.
Cop - I know u dont have any document.
Me - Pulled out all the documents.
Cop - Insurance
Me - Check
Cop - Puc
Me - Check
Cop - RC book
Me - Check
Me - I also have Passing done, Tax paid, Green tax receipt.
Cop - (looked amazed) then tells me, licence original hai kya.
Me - What??
Cop - (presses my Bike horn, moves around the bike checks number plate.)
Cop - (smiles and tells me) hmmm i stopped you for lane cutting clear lane cutting
Me - what - what lane cutting - what lane is here for lane cutting (its a slim road where 1 car can pass at a time and he says lane cutting)
Cop - i will make pavti u go collect licence from chowki.
Me - but what lane cutting - anything - u dint get anything so lane cutting.
Cop - ok fine is Rs. 500 im making pavti go pay there. or do 1 thing pay me 100 n take licence.
Me - fine 500 (i have a offences list from RTO that says fine is Rs. 100. ) i told him that he should stop fooling public. and just reminded him his duties and said this is height 1st take hafta from vendors and now taking hafta from general public by putting any blame on any one just for money. i also told him if he needed money he could have asked me rather than wasting my time.
Cop - Waiting for his Bribe.
Me - make pavti i will go and collect from chowki.
Cop - arre there fine is 500 i am taking 100 finish it here only
Me - (wondering who has caught whom) i said make pavti.
Cop - Ok for you i will take 50.
Me - (lost my mind on him felt like he is bargaining in chor bazaar) please give pavti because of cops like you the country is still behind.
Cop - ok now im making ha. You sure. then dont tell me why i made pavti.
Me - do what you want to do. please take the licence ant stuff it up ur A*se. I am going to complain to the department about this.
Cop - Ok go. i am leaving you
Me - (Forced him 2 make pavti as he was acting like he is doing a favour.)
Cop - Makes pavti tells me fine is 100. and then says if u complain nothing will happen. everyone is doing this. go tell whoever you want to tell. "koi kuch ukhad nahi sakta"
Me - Gave him a name of the incharge of Traffic police and my ACP and DCP uncles name.
Cop - Please dont complain i will get suspended.
Me - stop doing all this dadagiri on the road. i will do the needfull.
Cop - saaheb i told you dont pay fine take your licence.
Me - already had the pavti in my hand folded it put it in my bag. started the bike.
Cop - Please.
Me - Thankyou. N left.
Have to go to malad police traffic station today to collect my licence and pay a fine for an offence i did not do.
I am going forward to complain to the in charge there.
