Didn't pay bribe... but was harrassed for an year
I got the NOC for my Bike from Bangalore-Koramangala RTO without any problems in two weeks. I drove it all the way, It was a fantastic drive... All so good.
But then I approached the RTO in Chengannur, the mood changed completely.
The inspecting officer was a smart man...looked very grand with all his glittering uniform...he had 3 stars... on the collar Badge. But he was not convinced my bike was really fit enough for a registration in kerala. First reason - I was late for the vehicle inspection, Second - there is rust on the exhaust(Any one with a 5 year old bullet will know that the rust is actually due to the extreme heat at the bent just outside the engine). Nevertheless I did make rounds of the RTO and met the office many times. I was not sure what he really wanted. unfortunately he wasn't sure either. He wanted different copies of driving licences, ration card...again and again and again...
I have been following up with it. Last I know of the status ... They have sent the documents to Delhi for verification...(God knows why)...
I will have to resort to using some external pressures... unless its done in 2 months time.
