Motor Vehicles departments in West Bengal are the most corrupt places. They have touts roaming outside to get hold of an unsuspecting customer and lure them into an unending trap. Ever the department people are hand in glove with them.
Since I refused to go through a tout and didn't pay the bribe asked for, I was made to fail in the oral tests while others didn't even have to give that test. I made it a point to pursue it in a just and fair manner. I purchased a book on motor vehicle laws and signals and the next time the examiner couldn't fail me since I could answer all the questions put to me.
Today I am amongst the very few proud owners of a driving licence without a bribe.
