Excess baggage at Emrates counter? No problem just pay less than half to the guy issuing boarding pass
We usually hear about govt employees getting all the mullah. But I was in for surprise when I approached Emirates counter at Mumbai Airport while going to Europe. I had 10kg excess baggage and the guy asked me to pay Rs.13,000 for it. Usually this is negotiable but when I started that he simply jumped and asked me let's remove the company altogether and settle among us. When I realized what's that fella is talking about after few iterations, I asked him will he be satisfied with Rs. 500 which I had with me, he showed me the ATM counter and asked me to get Rs.5000. First I agreed but after pondering for few minutes I thought this is definitely wrong, I shouldn't be doing this. I asked him to take the full money giving him the excuse that I don't have ATM card and asked for receipt, which is what happened at the end. I am shorter by Rs.8000 but then I can tell this to the world with proud :-)
