I had applied for a passport on Nov 1st and was called to the police…
I had applied for a passport on Nov 1st and was called to the police station(Sanjaynagar) for verification. I was asked to wait there as the Inspector was out on duty. In the mean while i wrote a letter and submitted all my documents and filled the form and then waited for about 2 hours to get it signed by Inspector.
He came after a while and then again there were so many people waiting to meet him and we waited for our chance and he asked me and some other guy (who had also come for the very same purpose) a few questions and Signed our papers and we thought of informing the PC who was the incharge of passport dept and he asked me to wait letting the other person leave. So then he comes and pulled out a bill from his pocket and gave it to me and after a while got busy in his work. I was confused! why did he give me that bill which said "Fashion jewllery Rs200" and went back and asked him what it was and now he asks me "seriously you dont know what that is? " I said honestly i don't. And then he asked me to come tomorrow along with my father to the station and i left.
Only then i realised what he had asked me! but then was little skeptical whether or not he'll forward my application. But i stuck by my principles and didn't send my dad to police station.But the good news is My Passport has been printed and ready for Delivery. Out of all which made me even more happier was that I refused to pay bribe when so many people discouraged me saying that you pay or you forget about passport!......Feeling Proud
