(Khata) More than double the amount of bribe for an actual amount
Actual Khata amount (2% of registration stamp duty amount) for a typical 2BHK or 3BHK flat's will be atmost in the range of 2000rs to 4000rs.
When we approached to BBMP office at 'Off Sarjapur Road', shocked extremely to know that bribe is been demanded at 8000rs. Almost its double or triple the actual amount.
We appartment owners are together fighting atleast to bring down half of the bribe amount.
Its very ashamed that even what they are claiming, if we come up as group of 20 persons, then they give you 'offer' price of 8000. (Who are they to give offer from our hard earned money.)
We almost tired to bring down the amount to 6500rs per flat excluding the actual khata charges. We still hope atleast after several alarms by 'Times of India' regarding this bribe, some magic should happen at BBMP office.
[The worst part of reply we got is that they have to share the bribe money from root to top officials. ]
