I have been driving since 1979 in India and abroad.my license issued in Bangalore expired but I am presently living in chennai. When asked about the process in Bangalore RTO, I was told to pay Rs.5000 to renew since I had no address proof
In Bangalore. The chennai ********** nagar RTO agent who is closely related to RTO, asked for Rs. 7500 to issue a license without a test. Else, I would have to apply for a learner's license and go for a test which I did. During the test, the inspector was shocked to see me, a 50 yr old, behind the wheels of an expensive car. I explained to him about my case and insisted that he go thru the testing process. He accepted with a smile and said sorry to me. Because of a fee few departmental staff are corrupt, the entire department is blamed, he said.I refused to pay bribe and will continue to do so.
