I registered my property 508/A/20, 5th cross, 7th main, Mahalakshmi Layout on 12th Nov, 2014 at Rajajinagar Industrial town Sub-registrar office.
In between the registration, the registration clerk asked for some Office Stationary charge. I paid exactly Rs.500 that was the fee for scanning etc.
At the end of registration, the scanning clerk asked me to get the receipt of payment from the registration clerk. When I asked this registration clerk for the receipt, he called me over to the side and reiterated his demand for Office Stationery charges(i.e. bribe) and added that his boss, sub-registrar would be unhappy if the demand is not met.
I told him point blank that it is against my principle to pay any bribe as I have not paid a paisa till today.
He looked at my face in disbelief as to who this guy and reiterated the demand. I told him that I would not get proper sleep if I pay the bribe.
He just gave the receipt, I collected the registered sale deed, signed at the receipt counter that I have received the document and left the sub-registrar office.
