How to apply for a LPG Connection for domestic use? where to apply? What is the Charge? How Long would it take?

HP, BPCL & Indian oil are the three major Government owned LPG agencies operating in the country now. They have a common customer care Helpline- 155233 or 1800-2333-555.

The Initial cylinder cost is Rs. 1250 and for the regulator, Rs. 150. The voucher charges levied by the dealer would be a maximum of Rs. 400.
You require to produce a proof of Identity, such as a Passport, Ration card, pan card or Voter ID card. Some States, like Karnataka & Tamilnadu, might insist upon a Ration Card. After verification, an intimation letter will be sent to the nearest dealer and your gas connection will be sanctioned.

Proof of address is from the Ration Card, Electricity Bill, Telephone Bill, Passport, Employer's Certificate, Flat allotment / possession letter, House registration papers, LIC policy, Voterâ??s Identity Card, Rent Receipt, PAN card issued by the Income Tax department or Driving License.
Once all papers are produced,normally, you will get the connection within one or two months.
