What was the necessity to give the bribe? Most of the time, we unnecessarily fear the government official, thinking that he will harm you. Please remember that as long as you are not assertive, people will take you for a ride. There is no need for you to have any great legal knowledge to demand your rights. After all, in your personal work or business, don't you do your homework? Similarly, in your government transactions also, please do your homework before you pursue your work with them. That way, you will not be forced to pay bribes.

I am from vizag, AP. I have paid rs 35 and got a challan for my son's birth certificate from gvmc. After that the SI asked me 150 Rs. What is this extra amount. He did not give any details or bill for this. I felt it is bribe, but I had to give him on his demand fearing he might not give Birth certificate. What can IPAB do for this?? I am a common man and I dont have any legal knowledge. thanks and regards
