There is a mistake in my two sons birth certificate. viz. instead of Ravindra mistakenly it appears as Ravi
but in all school records it appears as Ravindra, when we applied for passport it got rejected because of the spelling mistake. I approached the village accountant in Ugar Khurd Athani Taluka Karnataka state for rectification. He informed me to approach Athani Taluka Tashildar Office. I approached,but the Tashildar informed us to get a court decree/order for rectification of my name.
I hired a advocate and filed the suit in Athani Taluka court after more than 6 months the case came up for hearing I was cross examined by public prosecutor, the advocate told the order will be passed on 21/07/2014. But nothing has happened.
I want to know the following:
1. Is this the correct procedure under the law.
2. If Yes, then how much time will it take for the magistrate to pass the order.
3. How much patience should I have to wait
