There was no "Tatkal" in those days. My travel to Germany as a technical expert was very crucial to save US$ 50000 per day for our country in foreign exchange. I met the PP Officer with our company issued letter. The officer was so good that he got me passport within 3 hours with 9 months validity pending police verification. I went to Germany and completed the task saving huge foreign exchange. After 9 months, my passport got renewed for 10 years without paying any bribe to any one. Similarly I got new passport from e-seva Hyderabad in 2003 and got it renewed 2013 without paying any bribe to anyone.
