Honest TTE, worried for Passenger Comfort and Railways money
I was traveling from Ahmedabad to Mumbai in Okha BDTS express, train no: 09562 on 19 Dec 2012. My online reservation got cancelled and started by general ticket from Ahmedabad.
From Surat I was supposed to travel in 2A with my brother-in-law and his colleagues from Bangkok.
Till Surat I travelled in Sleeper after paying the difference amount.
At Surat station, I have requested to upgrade my ticket to 2A for which he has regretted. After much pursuing and when he saw my case is genuine (my guests that to foreigners were traveling in that coach) he has given me the upgraded ticket.
However, I thought it was must be his usual tactic for getting the extra money.
While paying the difference amount, I have offered him Rs. 200 extra though he has not asked for it directly.
I was pleasantly surprised as well as felt ashamed when I heard his words....
"I was more worried about the comfort of the passengers as I (me) would have disturbed the silence inside the coach and about money, Railway offers me good salary".
Hats off to this gentleman.
