Return of money
A case of house breaking & theft involving property worth lakh was reported and the local Police was informed. They visited the place but did not register the case. On sustained pursuance the Police was forced to register a case and copy of FIR was given after 2 days. As directed some of the workers from the work site were produced at the Police Station, they were from other state and did not know the local language. Police detained them for 4 days at the Police Station. Food for them was sent from the site. When requested for the release of the workers huge amount was demanded but later settled for Rs. 20,000/-. After payment of money all the workers were released from the Police Station. When the matter came to the knowledge of the complainant, he was surprised to know that after loosing property in lakhs, money was paid for the release of the workers. The Policeman who had taken money was contacted and explained about the repercussions, he volunteered to return the money with an assurance that all sincere efforts would be made to trace the culprits and recover the stolen property.
