Jewelry was stolen in transit from Udupi to Bangalore, Kiran(SI)…

Reported on December 12, 2013 from Bangalore , Karnataka  ι Report #38504

Jewelry was stolen in transit from Udupi to Bangalore,
Kiran(SI) was very straight forward and directed the lowerups quite well, he knew the job/role/the kind of incident very well, I didnt see any opportunity to pay bribe in this incident. Very courteous staff.
Lessons learned:
1. Where to book a complaint is a real maze for a traveller...especially if this happens during a journey....
2. I visited Upparpet Police station, the whole task of having the FIR registered was very tiresome, if not for the high value of jewelry(close to 5-6lakhs) i would not go ahead again for small amount (in thousand) as its very very pathetic and slow process.....not to mention the 1000 odd questions and embarrassment of being the victim. We need to look at a single window....have a problem, get it registered and may be transferred to the jurisdiction police....hopefully someone is listening.
Time spend in the entire process - 20hrs
3. Station has huge rat problem, no parking and cops complaining about basic requirement like sanitation/toilets
4. The biggest one- Efficiency and lethargy
