If the person changed his national from Indian to other national (I naturalize from Indian to Chinese [Hong kong SAR]), he must register to nearest Police station within 2 weeks, if he return to India from overseas and plan to stay more than 6 months.
So on 15th July 2007, I went to Tuticorin Police station (near collector office) to register the same, but after hard time with them, they ask me to pay Rs. 500 to do the formalities though it should be free. And no receipt provided
Note : Now we have OCI ( Overseas Citizen of India) so no need to register anymore.
