On 14th April a police office visited my house for passport verification. I had all documents in hand and i showed it to him. He verified everything and asked for a photo copy of my voters ID. As i didnt have a copy at home i said to him that i will get a photo copy from a shop at the end of my steet and he was fine with it. I took a copy and handed it over to him and asked if that is all to make sure everything was clear. Without hesitation he asked me Rs. 200 bribe. I asked him why and he said it is standard for everyone. I had no other option but to pay him to get my passport processed. I said him I didnt bring purse so he asked me to go back him and get it. He waited till i came back and got the money from me.
