Back in college days, we went on a trip to costal Karnataka. In one of the ********** temples there, people had to remove their shirts and only those with the sacred thread were allowed in (don't ask me why). I was the only one in my group who didn't have one. The man at the door asked me for Rs.200 if I wanted to go in with my mates. He sprinkled some holy water on me and put a thread across my torso before letting me in. I paid bribe so I could see god!
