Correcting birth registration data was like hell

In hisar municipal council's birth and death registrar's office I had to get my wife's birth date corrected which was entered incorrectly in records. Everyone 1st denied that its not possible at all so get all you certificates changed but later talking to 1 or 2 guys it was told that its a long and tedious process and if you really want it done then warm their pockets from top to bottom.
They told there will be 5-6 people in all who will be included so if I have to get the details corrected I have to pay 25000 Rs for all of them. As I was not aware of process because none of govt processes are clear/clean enough that a common man understand them so I had to pay them that much of amount to get it done.
