I was returning back to India after completing my work tenure abroad. Havig sent most of my luggage by cargo, I just had on hnad my laptop and a new mobile phone. Being a very early morning flight, there were few passengers so the customs officers surrounded almost every passenger like a pack of hyenas. The officer checking my luggage refused to let me go, instead taking my passport and wanting to report me for carrying expensive goods which were my old laptop and phone, he even went to the extent of asking why I didnt bring any gold with me? After a lot of haggling, he settled for 200 dirhams, my passport was given to a police officer (who are just agents of these passport officers) we then went to a room behind the customs counter and I had to give the cash in return for my passport, I was one of the last passengers to leave the airport, having a connecting flight to catch in less than an hour I did not have much of a choice, but have the names of the officials involved and hope action can be taken on them.
