i am a IIT bombay student, i applied for passport on 20th March.
since i am staying in Hostel, i mentioned my current address as powai Hostel & permanent address as rajasthan address.
my police verification at powai police station went smoothly on 26th march without any hassles. on 25th march, i get a call for police verification from falna Police station mr. bachu singh (mobile no. 9252038388) . the speaking tone was very rude and he asked for the following documents (even tho i gave all documents in passport seva kendra)
1. pan card
2. identity card
3. ration card
4. aadhar card
later in the phone call, he asked me to send my parents to police station for police verification.
so on 26th march, when my father visited police station , he asked for these documents,
1.birth certificatre
2. tenth marksheet
3. twelth marksheet
4. certificate of residence from village ward
5. and many other unncessary documents
the truth is only ration card and birth certificate is more than enough for police verification.
passport police also told my father that he has very short time to get all documents and
later my file will go to other govt offices & police headquarters for police verification
and while he saw father came under pressure, he asked for 2000 rupees bribe, which my father had no other option than to pay.
