House is under construction, this is a small site. I had left only 2 ft on one side. the neighbor sent a written complaint to the corporation alleging I had extended the sajja over his property which was not true. This started the harassment from city corporation officials. They sent me a notice, even though we had not built the sajja over the neighbours property we did demolish so that the rst of the construction to proceed. We refused to pay a bribe. This the led the corporation engineer, and the corporator for that area to threaten that since we were not building to plan our construction would stop. We decided to just pay the bribe. we paid rs 5000 to three individuals including the engineer, and rs 10000 to the corporator. we just did not have a choice. Where is 'akrama-sankrama'? I realize we had built more than what we should but it is within our land, we are less than 5% deviated from the allowed. why harass us? when will this end?. maybe corruption is in the blood of the government employees. government is the problem. no wonder we cant progress.
