I paid a bribe for getting my passport verification process over

On 16th may, evening 3:30Pm in Keezhkattali police station when I went to get my passport verified, All the details were correct and I produced all the required documents, and he had verified it all and had gotten my thumb impression and said the process is over. When I was about to leave he asked me for money, I told him I had only little cash on me, so he took out the verified sheet before my eyes and stapled a non-verified sheet and ask me to go. After pleading for an hour he wanted two reference letters from my neighbourhood, I had to give that and he demanded I give him money else he would not get my passport thru, So I ended up paying 500rs even though I had everything on me. He was and is grossly abusing the power and is demanding bribe from every one. People here have started accepting it as a norm, Even though I wanted to take a stand I needed my passport urgently and had to endure this, Hope somebody sees this and starts an enquiry about this. Thanks
