When I approached for re-registration of my vehicle at Sholinganallur, Chennai RTO office, I was duly informed by the RTO office people to come via agent. For a re-registration that would take hardly 1500, I had to waste close to a day at RTO office and then pay bribe through the agent. Every one right from the cashier, clerk and break inspector has a cut via agent. Surprisingly the office has both good and bad superintendents.

Most surprisingly there is a pollution check centre just beneath the RTO office where the pollution certificates are issued to 1885 make bullets with just a click of webcam with doing any actual pollution checks.
