Three older women, European tourists, coming from Nepal back into India to continue our journey. Although our visas were in order we had to pay 500 rupees to have our three passports stamped and another 500 rupees to a person accompanying us on the grounds that, without his help, the bribe would have been 500 rupeees per passport. To tourists this gives a really bad impression of India - pity, because it's a wonderful country.
