I once was late to office. I jumped a signal and a traffic cop stopped me. He asked me to wait for his senior to come. looks like the traffic constables don t have the authority to ticket somebody, only the inspector can do it. I admitted that I was at fault as I was behind a fast car and crossed the signal when I should have stopped.I was late and I could see that the constable was interested in it so I offered 50 and he placed his pad on the window sill for me to slide the note under the sheets. I then started and went on to office careful not to jump anymore signal. I think if the cop had ticketed me and money had gone to govt, I would have respect for the honest cops and the laws that they are supposed to protect.
