Lack Of Information
I traveled with proper tatkal ticket on 27th Sept 2014. I had made a mistake while entering my PAN card number as a proof during tatkal booking, where there was mistake of two digits to the actual one. Taking this as a advantage, the TC demanded for 1200 Rs fine and we had an argument for around 20 mins, and finally he agreed to accept 500 rs as a fine. Al through this process we thought he was going through the process and when we gave 500 Rs and asked him for a receipt he said that if receipt had to be given it would cost around 1200 Rs. Since we did not have cash in hand we asked if there was any ATM facility in the next station or so , so that we can give immediately by withdrawing. He was so reluctant that he did not agree for that and asked us to get down in the next station. It was a helpless situation that we had no option rather than to pay the fine.
And we observed during our journey that he had been collecting money from people for berth allocation and many other reasons.
