Paid bribe to 3 separate Police Individuals

I paid bribe during the police verification of passports for my kid and my wife.
For my kid, I paid 500/- Rs to the police constable as the prevailing rate for this service.
For my wife's passport verification, it was some other constable who DEMANDED 1000/- Rs and when I paid 500/- Rs, he further demanded 500/- more as if he was doing a service to me visiting my home in late hours. He was adamant and also showed his anger when his demands were not met.
Finally I gave him 600/- Rs but he left after giving me a warning; I am not sure of what is exactly said- he 'll remember me/or I'll remember him. Just after a few days, Local Police Intelligence people came to visit us for the same passport and again demanded "kharcha-paani" for the service done to me and took away 500/- Rs for the same.
I felt powerless then and thought - I wished them being punished by law
