Paid bribe to clear IT scrutiny case

I am software employee earning around 8 lakhs per annum and I paid Income tax of 127000.
I got Income tax scrutiny for 28 lakhs cash deposits in my account.
My case was in ITO ward 12 handled by M. Lalitha.
Lalitha demanded for three lakhs bribe for clearing scrutiny case.
She also scared me saying if you dont pay three lakhs, you would end up paying a tax of more than 12 lakhs including penalties.
She never felt anything bad for asking bribe. She openly agreed that total bribe is not just for herself but would be shared by all stake holders.
finally I am out of case by paying around two and half lakhs bribe out of my hard earned money. I had to pay the bribe, because I was in hurry to get out of the case and avoid paying huge money.
I am not sure if there is a system in place to catch such bad officers.
