Paid bribe for number plate from another state

The traffic cop charged me 500 Rs as bribe because I had a number plate on my vehicle from another state. Ironically, I have paid a higher road tax, which was a lifetime roadtax, in another state. Getting a new number plate is more expensive than paying bribes on these instances. I am sick of corruption in department of motor vehicles which does not allow an easy transfer process so that the traffic policemen can continue to harass and coerce people like me to pay for their pocket money.
