Me and my wife had 2 liquor bottles, with permits, with us while travelling on a bus from Panaji to Cochin.
A police-man entered the bus at the Goa Karnataka border NH-17, started examining the bags kept in the shelf above the seats, stopped by us, said we had 4 bottles without permit and demanded we pay Rs 200, or alight from the bus and speak to a senior official.
He didn't even ask us to open our bags or look at the permits that we tried to show.
He threatened that we will have to pay a heavy fine if the senior official got involved and also that other passengers of the bus would be inconvenienced.
